Hosting Your Website

To get your website displayed on the Internet, you will need to get the following services:

• A Hosting account to provide storage for your website files on a remote computer called a server.

• A Domain Name (e.g. www.mylovelydomain.com ) to enable people to find your website (sometimes called a web address)

You may already have these set up, in which case, we will need your server access details once your website is complete. We do not need access to your account details or billing information.

If you haven't got hosting yet, you can either let us set it up for you or click here if you prefer to set up your own hosting account.

How it works:

• A domain can be hosted with us or a different service provider.

• A recurring registration fee is normally payable to the company hosting your domain.

• A domain is the name that you type into your browser to enable your website to be viewed.

• Your website is a collection of files which are stored on a computer called a server which "Hosts" your website.

When someone types in www.mylovelydomain.com the browser visits the server that hosts the mylovelydomain website and displays the home page which is linked to all the other pages on the mylovelydomain website. The home page is normally named index.html, index.htm, index,php or some other file extension.

What it costs:

For a custom designed website to your specification, fees depend upon the work involved. You can pay the setup cost in a single payment or spread the cost with monthly payments. You will only pay the price we quote you.

You will also need a hosting account and a domain (e.g. www.mylovelydomain.com )

• We will quote you in advance for all costs.

• The price we quote is the price you pay.

• There are no asterisks referring to unpleasant surprises in the small print.

To protect our good name Forjay Media Services will not design or host any website containing indecent or offensive material, misleading links, pop-ups, pop-unders or any other such rubbish. We only deal with reputable small to medium businesses or individuals who wish to represent their services on the Internet honestly and truthfully.

• Step 2 If you like our quote and wish to proceed we will design your website to your requirements

• Step 3 If you are happy with your website, you make your payment or commence instalments

• Step 4 We make your website go "live" and submit it to major search engines including Google.

If you host with us we will set up your mailboxes and make any adjustments during a three month "teething period" to get your website exactly as you want it. Thereafter we may make minor changes such as address/phone number/personnel changes Free of Charge at our discretion. All other work (excluding remedial changes to unseen faults) will be charged at our prevailing design rates as shown on our pricing page.

Hosting and domain fees are payable from the time these services are set up. This may be different from the completion date of your website which will be billed upon completion.
